| The Vision
2030 project was sponsored by the Highways
Agency (HA), the Agency within the Department
for Transport (DfT) responsible for operating
the motorways and trunk roads in England.
The project brief was to consider the development
of inter-urban transport in the longer term,
to anticipate future needs and requirements,
and how they might be met.
In response, the Vision 2030 team have
delivered a portfolio of Transport Visions
that provides a constructive basis for long-term
strategy development. The Visions are subjective
rather than objective and are a means of
exploring various long-term options that
might help the Agency to meet its primary
aims.
Vision 2030 has provided an opportunity
for the HA to seek views from a wide range
of people with a stake in the future of
the inter-urban highway network.
